VA Disability Calculator is an independent, free tool that helps veterans and their families understand how VA combines disability ratings and what the published compensation rates mean for them. It is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency.
Where our numbers come from
- Compensation rates: VA.gov veteran compensation rates, effective December 1, 2025, checked October 19, 2026.
- SMC-K and SMC-Q: VA.gov special monthly compensation rates, checked October 19, 2026.
- Combining ratings: 38 CFR 4.25 and 38 CFR 4.26 (eCFR), retrieved October 19, 2026.
- 2027 estimate: the 3.6% COLA announced by the Social Security Administration on October 14, 2026. Clearly labeled as an estimate until VA publishes its table.
Our calculation code is checked by automated tests against every value in VA’s Combined Ratings Table and against the examples in the regulations and on VA.gov. See how VA math works and the changelog.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell claim services or refer you to paid consultants. If you want help with a claim, VA says accredited VSO representatives are always free. Find one on VA.gov.
